Vital Statistics. * Tho vital statistics for Foxton for the month of June, with tho figures for the corresponding period of last year shown in parentheses, are as follow*—Births <4 (1), deaths 2 (2), marriages nil (l), Maori births 3 (1), Maori deaths-1 (ml). The figures for the quarter ending June du are as follow :-Births 12 (15), deaths 5 (3), marriages 2 (5), Maori births 6 (2), Maori deaths 2 (1). Tho Weather. Rain fell locally on 12 days during June, the total iall recorded being 3.24 inches. The maximum fall occurred on Saturday the 2nd when .64 of an inch was recorded. The hottest day during the month was Saturday the Jnd with a temperature of 56 degrees, while the coldest day was Thursday tho 14 th when the thermomoter registered 35 degrees. Golf.
A match for the Hamilton Cup was played on the local links during the weekend between the Levm and Henington Golf Clubs, the game resulting in a win for Levin by 75 games to 41 games. Bull; B. Gavin halved with R. Webb; J. jj. Burcell lost to K. E. Adams; S. Mattar lost to E. T. G. Miller; J. H. Purcell lost to W. G. Phillips; W. Thomas lost to V. G. Astley; M. Baird beat D. S.
