Fifteen Dead and Hundreds Wounded in Clashes

The strike wave is rapidly approaching an all-time peak, accompanied by unparalleled violence throughout the nation. Fifteen arc dead as a result of battles between pickets and the police and hundreds have been wounded.
The position reached a climax tonight with the ordering of State troops into Toledo, where a general strike threatens in sympathy with 2000 striking automobile workers. Striking longshoremen and seamen have virtually paralysed shipping in Gulf and Pacific Coast ports, white the southern ore mine strikers are engaged in almost daily clashes with strikebreakers and the authorities. The steel-workers are preparing to strike in the middle of June and many others are threatening. The paramount demands consist of union recognition and higher wages.
