A meeting of those' interested in the formation of an Apiti basketball club was held on Tuesday evening. Mrs. J. Osborne; committee, Misses O. Cave, M. Malone and R. Hitchman; referee, coach and selector, Miss M. Osborne. It was decided to wear navy and white uniforms. Miss Osborne has donated a ball and Mr. C. Inquiries have been made by former members of the Apiti Cheerio Club who are no longer resident here, as to whether the club donated any funds to the AA’ar Memorial fund. It does not seem to be generally' known that the Cheerio Club made a handsome donation of approximately £ll, which sum formed the nucleus of (he fund for the recently erected arch.
