Mid-week Rugby

PRACTICE GAME AT FEILDING Duo (o the fact that Martou have defaulted, tho Feilding Ivowhai midweek Rugby team is left without an engagement to-day, and the club has therefore decided to stage a practice game on Johnston Park. Tho decision of Martpn interests not to proceed with the arrangements entered into with tho Manawatu Rugby Union came as a surprise to Rugby interests in the lower Itangitikei, who had lakcn up tho idea of engagements between the unions on either side of the Rangitikei with enthusiasm. It is hoped that the matter will not be allowed to drop •and that wiser counsels will break down the parochial attitude of those 'Marton interests who were successful in vetoing an arrangement which, in the interests of Rugby, deserved to be encouraged.

For this afternoon’s practice game in Feilding the Kowhai Club requests the attendance of the following players:—Staples, Hcsketh, Dunn, Trass, Linton, Bell, Fowlcs, Wells, Watts, Durrant, Barnett, Thurston, Brewer, Rhynd, Peek, Harford, Julian, Bramwell, Kennedy, Gaskin, Dommctt, Darragh, Lync, Grindrod, Smith.
