“Human Side” of Divorce
Divorce dramatised to show tho human side of family differences is the theme of ‘‘The Human Side,’* Christine Ames’s play, which Carl Lacmmlc, jun., has purchased for production as a film by Universal. It concerns a divorced man, and the wife who leaves with and supports three children. Learning that his wife intends to marry a man more for the protection of herself and the children than for love, the former husband, with the help of tho children, wins the wife back. But not before the story lias shown the human side of divorce, its effect on husband, wife, and children.
Special Musical Score. The special' musical score written for the Twickenham film, “The Mandering Jew,” by Dr. Hugo Eiesenfcld, is advanced as an outstanding feature of this production. Dr. Eiesenfcld was born in Vienna, spent many years working in Hollywood, and is a pioneer of the musical interpretation of films. He composed the special music for numerous American productions, including “Ben Hu’." ’ and "King of Kings.” His work on “The Wandering Jew” involved the use of a symphony orchestra of over 70 instruments, and the composer's musical versatility is fully exploited in the wide Tange, of history covered by the story. Conrad Vcidt has the title role of “The Wandering Jew,” which will be released by B'ritsh Dominions Films. <s• <S> <t> ❖ German Star.
