Mr and Mrs A. F. Filers, Pahiatua, returned from the South Island by the Waliine last Friday. Mrs, F. Filers and her daughter, of Pahiatua, have been away for three months visiting Christchurch and Timaru. Mrs Ct. W. Gay, with her small daughter, of Wanganui, is spending a holiday with her uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs 11. A. llore, Kimbolton. The roport of the matron of the Palniorston Forth hospital for April, presented to the Hospital Board yesterday, stated that one nurse had contracted measles and another scarfet fever. Both were getting on quite well. Otherwise the health of the staff was good. Misses M. Cameron, Buwliiu, Blixt, Browne and Clare of the Palmerston Forth hospital, were successful in passing their hospital' examinations conducted by Drs. Bett, Millar and Putnam, the matron (Miss J. F. McGhio) reported ,to the Hospital Board yesterday. A wire circle of friends will regret the removal' of Mr and Mrs G. G. Campbell, of Hongopai street, to Wellington. Mr Campbell has been transferred to the Wellington branch of Messrs Sargood, Son and Ewing, and lias already left for his new appointment, and Mrs Campbell will follow at the end of the month. The matron of the Palmerston Forth hospital acknowledges the following donations:—Books, Rnngitikei Club; toys, Manawatu Daily Times Cogs; cammi roots, Manawatu Pacing Club; books, Mr Roberts (Shannon); vegetables, Mr Hosking; magazines, Miss 0. Stephens; flowers, Mr F. Mason (Fcilding); chrysanthemums, Mr W. Grey; magazines, ■R. W. Zimmerman; books, Mrs Seabury.
