Simplicity of Style In Presentation Gowns

The style of the gowns that have been shown for Court wear this year should please the Queen, for in none of them is there the feast suggestion of exaggeration. The colours —if colours they can be called —advised for debutantes, include ice-blue, magnolia-white, water-green, parchment and dawn-pink. The styles are simplicity itself. Every frock is moulded, almost every ono is cut fairfy high to tho throat, and there are more with long fitting sleeves than with no sleeves at all. Fresh flower bouquets are to bo carried by the young girls, while the older women who are to present them rather favour fans. Hairdressing is not the problem it was a few seasons ago, when hair was definitely short, but the smartest coiffeurs in London arc already booked to put tbc finishing touches lo the curls and arrange the head-dress of the debutantes.
