PERSONALITIES
Dr. 11. J. C. Durward, of Palmerston North, expects to return to New Zealand early next month. Sympathy with Mr F. G. Milner, of Waitaki, in the death of his mother, wap expressed by the Palmerston North Rotary Club yesterday. Guests at the Hotel Imperial include Mr and Mrs E. Houlihan and Master Houlihan (Blenheim), Mr F. Hardwieke (Wellington), and Mr J. Duncan (Wellington). Miss Nancy Grant, who last year qualified for a Diploma of Pint Arts at Canterbury College, Christchurch, arrived in Palmerston North yesterday to take up her appointment, at the Palmerston North Technical School. Dr. E. Gillies, who was recently appointed radiologist at the Palmerston North hospital, has advised the Hospital Board that she will be able to com mencc duty in October. Dr. Gillies is at present in London. The Hon. A. Hamilton, Minister for Employment, will speak on that question to the Citizens’ Lunch Club to-day. Eight members of local bodies in this district will attend as guests of the club, whose hospitality is limited only by the capacity of the room.
