Wedding Celebrated On May Morning
VIVIAN—BEARSLEY St. Patrick’s Church, Broadway, Palmerston North was the scene of a pretty morning wedding on May 14, when Olive Anne May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bearsley, of Linton street, Palmerston North, was married to Oliver Henry, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Steven Vivian, of Caversham, Dunedin. Rev. Father Horlihy was the officiating priest, and Miss Spclnvin played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of angel-skin lace over satin. Tho skirt was long and slim-iitting, inlet with godets and was slightly trained and the corsago had long tight sleeves pointed over her hands. Her beautiful veil was held in place with a coronet of pearls, and hor shower bouquet was composed of bridal lilies, chrysanthemums, and maiden-hair fern. There were two bridesmaids in attendance, Miss Winifred Bearsley (chief) sister of the bride, and Miss Isabel King. Both •wore dainty frocks of white net with silk spots. Frilled godets gave fullness to tho skirts which were fitting to the knees, and the corsages had three-tiered collars and sloevcs, green velvet sashes making a pretty finish. They wore bandeaux of flowers on their heads with tulle to form caps, also green satin shoes, and carried bouquets of gladioli and chrysanthemums. Also in attendance was Mary Norris as flower girl, who -wore a sweet frock of white jiin spot net over satin with three scalloped frills on the skirt interspersed with pink rosebuds and green leaves. The bodice was finished with frills and rosebuds and had puff sleeves. She vrore a Juliet cap of white net and rosebuds, also white satin shoes and carried a basket of pin): flowers. Mr. Matt Flynn, of Wellington, supported the bridegroom as best man, Mr. Lionel Bearsley being tho groomsman. Following tho ceremony a reception was held at the “Jade” Tea Rooms, which were artistically decorated with a profusion of autumn blooms and foliage. Mrs. Bearsley received the guests attired in a navy costume with a hat to match and carrying a boiquet of red roses and autumn leaves.
The usual congratulations wero offered, and when Mr. and Mrs. Vivian left for tho south the brido was wearing a burgundy frock and hat with smart navy coat and shoes to* match. They will make their new home in Palmerston North.
