Rev. John Hubbard Accepts Call to St. Andrew's Church
INDUCTION TO TAKE PEACE IN JULY.
At a meeting of the Presbytery of Wellington yesterday, at Wellington, Rev. John Paterson, of Wanganui, and Messrs. W. B. Tennant and J. C. Young, of Palmerston North, supported the call to St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North, on behalf of the Wanganui Presbytery, to Rev. Join: Hubbard, M.A., 8.D., of Kelburn. The representatives of the Kelburn congregation spoke of the magnificent work done by Mr. Hubbard, and expressed the hope that he would remain with them, but if he felt drawn to accept the call they would place no obstacles in his way.
Mr. Hubbard expressed his deep regret, at leaving his present charge, but said ho felt that the duty was laid upon him to undertake the larger task to which he was being called. On the call being placed in his hands by the Presbytery, he intimated his acceptance. It is hoped that the induction will take place in the first week in July.
