Pretty Easter Wedding

STEED —PI SHEB. ; >' A quiet but pretty wedding ‘was solemnised at St. Peter’s Church, Terraco End, on April 2, when Mildred Elsie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Fisher, of Christchurch, was married to Arthur John, son of Mrs. A. Gunnell and tho late Mr. A. H. Steed, of Wairoa. Rev. D. J. Davies officiated. The church, which had been decorated for tho occasion by friends of the bride, in shades of pink and white with autumn-tinted foliage, formed an attractive setting for tho bridal party. As tho bride entered tho church escorted by her cousin, Mr. A. V. Oliver, of Palmerston North, she mado a charming picture in her graceful, ankle-length frock of ivory angel-skin lace over satin,- moulded on slender lines. The corsage had puffed sleeves to the elbow and'long cuffs pointed over the hands, and a narrow belt encircled the waist caught with a diamante buckle. The skirt flared gracefully from the deep pointed eorsage. Her embroidery scolloped tullo veil was held to her head with side clusters of orange blossom, and fell in soft folds to form a train, while dainty shoes of white crepe-do-chine, a sheaf of white gladioli with touches of delphinium and gypsophila, completed a most attractive toilette. In attendance on the brido wero Miss Maisio Oliver, as chief bridesmaid, and Miss Mollie Wischnowsky, both of Palmerston North, who were dressed alike in frocks of pink angel-skin lace, fashioned on similar lines to that of tho brido, with the difference of georgette capo collars, the back forming a cowl and caught in front with diamante ornaments. They wore pink caps finished with sido bows, also pink satin shoe 3 and carried sheaves of pink gladioli, carnations, and gypsophila. A reception was later held at the Broadway Lounge, whero Mrs. A. V. Oliver acted as hostess, wearing a smart grey frock of phantom crcpc with touches of orange, and hat and posy to tone. Mrs. Gunnell was attired in a brown marocain .frock and brown hat, and carried a posy in tonlug shades. Tho happy couple later left by cat for tho north, tho bride tiavolling in a smart wine ensemble, the tailored coat with brown musquash collar, with skin shoes and matching gloves and handbag. Mr. and Mrs. Steed will make their future home in Wairoa.
