Ukraine Wants to Break From Soviet Union
MOVEMENT DUE TO FOOD SHORTAGE United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 8 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 28. The Daily Telegraph’s Moscow correspondent says that a conspiracy has been disclosed to enable the Ukraine to break from the Union, causing anxiety at Soviet headquarters. The movement is due to a. food shortage, which led to a combination of discontented elements in the Ukraine formidable enough to tempt possible intervention. The Ukraine is twice the. size of Britain and is one of the richest districts in Russia; so Moscow states it is determined to fight separation at any cost.
