"Tonight Is Ours” Now Current at Regent

FREDRIC MARCH AND CLAUDETTE COLBERT IN COWARD ROMANCE Brilliant in its dialogue, glamorous in its dramatic content, distinguished in its actors, “To-night Is Ours,’’ a romantic novelty starring Claudette Colbert and Frcdric March, opens at the Regent this evening, and for the delectation of local patrons will conclude there on Friday. A glance at the personnel responsible for the making of tho film is, in itself, sufficient assurance of its excellence. Noel Coward, tho author of “Caval cade,” and many other plays, wrote the original play. Hence the peculiar bril liance of the dialogue. No ono in the modern theatre can write such ' dialogue as this amazing young Englishman, who is playwright, actor, novelist, poet, 6ong writer, musician, designer, dancer, everything that applies to the theatre, all in one. As for the cast, no two names in the whole film world are more to tho fore than those of March and Miss Colbert. March received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award for the best male performance in 1932, due to hiis work in “Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde.” Miss Colbert, always a player of extraordinary charm, has soared to the heights by virtue of her performance as tho wicked Empress Poppaea in Cecil de Mille’s “The Sign of tho Cross.” With these two as the glamorous young lovers, tho film could not fail to be interesting, but as if they were not good enough in themselves, there are Alison Sfkipworth, Arthur Byron, Paul Cavanagh and Ethel Griffies in the supporting roles. The film has to do with two romantic young people who meet at a masked ball in Paris, fall madly in love at first sight, and spend a few giddy, glorious weeks together. Through an unexpected turn of events, they are separated, and do not meet again until a year later, on the eve of the girl’s forced marriage to another man. But, just as nil seems lost, fate again steps in to solvo their problems for them.
