‘‘MAN PROM TORONTO” IS SCHEDULED TOR RELEASE It is easy to picture genial Ered Kerr in the role of a lawyer-exe-cutor of an absurd will, the terms of which bequeath half a million between Fergus, a Canadian (lan Hunter) and Leila (Jessie Matthews) on the condition that they marry. Sinclair Hill directed the screen version of Douglas Murray’s diverting stage play, and tho result is a film that, abounding in cross-purposes, affords us some sparkling photography find'do adequate justice to the English Countryside.
Stepin Fetchit, the negro comedian, who for many years was under contract to Fox Films, has been again signed by that company. He has lately been appearing in vaudeville. His first production will be “Fox Movietone Follies.” <s><s><s><s> Greta Garbo’s name has greater news value than that of any other film star, according to a questionnaire issued to New York editors. His come-back film will be “Blood Money,” in which Tallulah Bankhead has been offered the feminine lead. <£ <S> <S> A committee, of Hollywood actors is petitioning a leading newspaper proprietor to exclude from his papers scandalous stories concerning the private lives of film artists, on the ground that such stories, which seldom have any basis in truth, do great injury to the film business. <s> <s> <s> <S>
Lionel Barrymoro will appear for M.-G.-M. in “Hall of Justice,” a drama written around tho Los Angeles Gaol, which will be be utilised as a setting.
