Childen's Party for Plunket Queen

Tho children’s party organised by supporters of the .Plunket and Nursing Services’ Queen, in tho Garrison Band hall on Friday evening, met with gratifying success. There was a large attendance of children, who were, in the main, in fancy dress. The time went very quickly for them in dancing and organised games, tho music being provided by Mrs Wollerman and Miss J. Wollerman. Mrs W. G. Black was tho convener of committees and Mrs Edwards, with a committee of ladies, was in charge of an ample supper, provided by tho committee and their friends, which was givon tho children, with soft drinks at 8.30 p.xn. They w’ere entertained by a ventriloquist, Mr King, during tho evening. Miss B. Chrystall made a cliarming Cinderella, and was attended by six fairies, the dressing being under the guidance of Miss Hands and Miss Watts. Miss Barnett, the Plunket Queen, was present with her attendants. Mrs Barnett was assisted by Mrs Cameron at the soft drinks stall, aud those at tho ico cream stall wore Mrs Rabone, Mrs Trask and Mrs Mouusey. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr Gordon with credit, he being assisted by Mrs Davidson and Miss V. Wood. Tho children of the All Saints’ Children’s Home and tho Willard Homo wero the guests of the committee for the evening.
