The death is reported by cable from Sydney of Rev. Aleaxndcr Miller, aged 72, at Chatswood, late minister of the Presbyterian Church at Westport and at Auckland. Guests at the Hotel Imperial include Mr. A. N. Sewell, Wellington; Mr. L. Hollis, Masterton; Mrs. Large and Mrs. Mathews, Hawke‘s Bay and Mr. and Mrs. J. Collie-Smith, Wellington. Visitors welcomed to the Palmerston North Rotary Club yesterday were Dr. J. S. Yeatos '(Massey College) and Messrs. J. Hodgcns, W. J. Black, J. Wallace, J. A. Colqulioun, T. Madge, and L. J. Madge. Messrs D. J. Parr and J- B. Mawson, Education Department secondary school inspectors, arc expected to arrive iu Palmerston North on Friday to conduct an inspection of the Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools. “The news of the passing of Rotarian S. L. Freeman has been received by members of the club and the community with deep regret. He became a member iu April, 1925, and lias since participated in every phase of the club’s activities, being also associated with other community organisations. The sympathy of members wili be extended to Mrs. Freeman in her bereavement. ’ ’ —So read an extract of the last weekly letter to members of the Palmerston North Rotary Club. At its meeting yesterday, the club recorded its appreciation, of the services of the late Mr. Freeman to the objects of Rotary, and also expressed sincere sympathy with Mrs. Freeman in her bereavement.
