Milson Aerodrome
A BUSY FORTNIGHT. The last fortnight at Alilson aerodrome has been a particularly busy one owing to arrivals and departures of ’planes. The following is a resume of activities at the ’drome for the fortnight ending October 22: —10th., ABD, L. Alangham pilot, J. Baines passenger, left for Ashhurst and Feilding, return; ABD, through to Alarton and return; 13th., ABE, H. Preston pilot, landed from Alastcrton; 14th., ABE, H. Preston left for Dannevirke; ACD, Captain Talbot-Lehnann, Dannevirke; 16th., ACD, Captain Talbot-Lehnann, return to Alilson from Dannevirke with passenger; ABE, H. Preston, landed from Alastcrton; 17th., ADD, Air. Afatheson landed from Napier en routo to Wellington flying red wing biplane, 2seater side by side machine; Falrey SIBOS, Flight-Lieut. AVallingford pilot, fitter, Air. Hunter, from Auckland, en routo Wigram, Sockburn; 18th., ACAI, R. Ivirkup and passenger, George Walker, from Wellington housed for the night; 19t1i., ACAI, left for Wanganui; ABD, L. Alangham, flew to Otaki and returned; ACQ, Major Cowper, passenger, Air. A. Akers, flew to Trentham; 20th., ACQ, returned from Trentham; 22nd., ABN, H. Armstrong, and passenger, Air. Grace, of Alartinborougb, flew from Akitio and returned. Flying by pilots of local club, those iu tiic air were: N. C. AlacLcod, E. S. AlcGaffan, E. W. Barnett, A. H. Honeyfield, H. C. Walker, E. Linklater, J. Baines, A. J. AlcLeavey.
A trip to Wellington was made by Air. Honcyfield and passenger, Mr. Bennett, and a trip to Alarton was made by Atr. Walker 'and passenger. A. trip was mado to Wellington by Air. AlcLeavey and Flying-Officer Buckeridge. RnsU'uction has also been carried out by Captain Talbot-Lehnann, instructor to the Wairarapa Aero Club and Alilson aerodrome. Air. J. Baines, of Taihape, having gone solo, subsequently gained his ‘‘A” license. Air. Baines learnt to fly within two weeks. Airs. S'. Stannard, of Palmerston North, who has been undergoing instruction with tho local club, also flew solo on Tuesday morning, tho 24th.
