Service Car Strikes Concrete Culvert

EIGHT WOMEN PASSENGERS INJURED, United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Friday, 8.10 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 13. A service car containing 13 women passengers, mostly for Canberra, struck a concrete culvert near Wallan, overturned, and caught fire. AH the passengers were extricated before the flames reached them. Eight of the women were injured. The majority have brokeu bones and tho remainder were all severely shaken, while the driver sustained facial injuries. The accident was duo to the bursting of a tyre, causing tho vehicle to swerve and strike ®h,e culvert with terrific force.
