From Our Own Correspondent. The Late Mi*. Charles Wilson.

yjr. Charles William 'Wilson, whose death took place at Palmerston North on Friday, was buried at the Clifton cemetery, Bulls, on Sunday afternoon, Rev. B. R. White conducting- the burial service. There was a large cortege in attendance, some SO cars following the hearse from the Anglican Church to the cemetery. The late Mr. Wilson, whose brotner, Mr. Horace Wilson, died at Bulls some five months ago, was in his 69th year. He lived for the greater part of his life at Wanganui, but. was well-known as a part-owner of the Santoft station, near Bulls, which was afterwards sold to Mr. R H. Trotter. He came to New Zealand in' ISSS and took up duties as a cadet on the farm of Mr. Ewan Campbell, the doyen president of the Wanganui Jockey Club. In 1893 he purchased the ‘Siberia Estate” at Brunswick, Wanganui, and in addition to this he owned extensive property at Papaiti, up the Wanganui river. The deceased gentleman was widely known some years back as a racehorse owner, owning such horses as Paviova (Wellington. Cup, 1915), Santiago ana Miss Pat. Rangitikei Golf Club,

The ladies of the Rangitikei Golf Club will have their final L.G.U. medal match to-day. The closing day has been arranged for Thursday, and there will be a Canadian foursome competition. _ After tea. tlio various trophies won during the season will be presented. Totals: Rangitikei 7 wins, 2 halved; Castlecliff 3 wins, 2 halved. Bowling Club. A meeting of the committee of the Bulls Bowing Club was held on Friday evening under the chairmanship of Mr. J, H. Perrett. It; was reported that the green and surroundings have never been in better condition, and also that several new members are joining up. It was resolved to hold the annual meeting on Thursday night, and they opening dav of the green was fixed tor October 11. , Tennis Players Prepare.

The Bulls Tennis Club executive met on Friday evening, Mr. A. W. Anion presiding. A balance sheet of the recent ball was presented disclosing a useful credit, and tho secretaries and other assistants were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The secretary also presented a provisional balance sheet, and members expressed satisfaction at the position disclosed. The club’s annual meeting will bo held on October 5 and the courts will be opened on Saturday, October i. The ladder committee was instructed to endeavour to arrange a challenge match against Bovin for the Newman Cup on L.tboui 1 General.
