BRITISH TREASURY BILLS LOWEST PRICE ON RECORD. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 23. The British Treasury yesterday carried oui. its tveekly borrowing at the lowest rate ever recorded. A total of £45,000,000 of three months Treasury bills were placed at an average discount of 4s 9.15 d per cent., or less than $ per cent.
As these bills fall duo towards the end of December when money is usually in abnormally keen demand in Lombard street, they constitute an exceptionally popular maturity. It is understood that the banks secured most of yesterday's bills.

DANNEVIRKE DISTRICT JERSEY CATTLE CLUB
The 11th. annual sale of registered Jerseys held under the auspices of the Dannevirke District Jersey Cattle Club takes place at the Showgrounds on Wednesday, October 4, at 11 a.m. Over GO entries have been received, seven of which are registered cows of all ages. The remainder of the catalogue comprises 2 bull calves, 39 yearling bulls, 14 2-year-olds and four of other ages. Pedigrees show that many of ttiem have excellent butteriat backing and anyone interested cannot do better than apply for a catalogue, which is free. The secretary of tne club, Miss K. Miller, Box 38, Dannevirke, will supply this and any other information, and .same may also be had from the auctioneers controlling the sale, Messrs\Vngnt, .‘Stephenson, and Co.
