Feilding Golf Club

LADIES ’ CHAMPIONSHIPS The ladies’ championships of the Feilding Golf Club were decided on Saturday morning under favourable weather conditions. The senior ,>*nre was contested by Mrs. E. E. Short", w&o held the junior championship in 1922 and again in 1925, and Miss M. Bartholomew. Played over 18 holes, the game did not produce good figures, the issue being rather evenly contested to the lasi green where Mrs. Short sunk a, putt for a bogey to win the match. In the junior match the contestants were Miss K. Cart hew and Miss Irwin who fought a hard game which terminated on the 20th green in favour of Miss Carthew. Last season’s junior champion, Miss Irwin, had the experience oi' her previous contest in her favour but found Miss Carthew offering some good play. All square at the 18th, the players halved the 19th aud 20th, Miss Carthew claimed the verdict by her accurate putting.
