Extra Playing Fields In Hokowhitu Area

WORK PROCEEDING AT DOMAIN. A decided improvement is being effected to the area known as the Albert Street Domain, adjacent to the Hokowhitu school, where additional playing areas are being laid down under the jurisdiction of the Palmerston North City Council. A few years ago a football area was formed there and now, with the assistance of Telief workers under the No. 5 scheme, two other playing fields are taking shape. These will possibly bo allocated to hockey and football enthusiasts and will be in readiness for play next season. In addition to the fact, that 20 men are employed on the domain the work, when completed, will furnish the Hokowhitu section of the city with valuable recreational facilities.
