Speed-boat Race for Harmsworth Trophy

DETROIT, Aug 18. A course in the St. Clair river, above Algonac, Michigan, has been definitely decided upon for the Harmsworth Trophy speedboat race between Gar Wood (U.S.A.) and Scott Paine (Britain). It is considered safer for crew and boats. The course is a. seven-nautical-mile ellipse. It will have two or three mile straightways, and outsido straightaway fringing the International Boundary line. In the sheltered waters of the St. Clair river the small challenger craft is oxpected to have a better chance against Miss Atnerica X than in the rougher seas of Lake St. Clair, the scene of last year’s race.
