Communists Expelled From Party
MANY TRANSPORT WRECKERS ARRESTED United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph-Copyright. Received Friday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Aug. IS. The Times' Riga correspondent states that, following the alleged discovery of many anti-Communist plots, the Soviet Fas expelled several thousand Communists from the Party and arTested many as enemies of the people. Some in key positions allegedly gained advancement by false pretences. Transport difficulties have increased since the railways were subjected to emergency law. Seventy-five transport wreckers have been arrested at one station and there have been similar occurrences elsewhere. The Ukranian Academy of Agriculture has been reorganised and 13 professors removed.
