There was an excellent attendance and an enjoyable time was spent by all present, including quite a number of visitors. A cake, made and donated by Miss Hoarsey, was won by Mrs D. Rowland. A dainty supper was served by tho ladies’ committeo, and dancing was continued until midnight. On Saturday evening a large number of local residents met at tho home of Mr and Mrs F. Vautior, who were recently maTried, when a very happy time was spent in games, competitions, and dancing. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss I. Ferguson and Mr R. Cave. Mr H. Igglcsdon kindly supplied tho music for the dancing on an aecordeon. About midnight the evening concluded with “Auld Lang Syne.” On Saturday evening another very jolly party was given by Mr and Mrs E. P Nielsen at their home for the Misses R. and J. Maffey and Master V. Maffey, who are leaving the district. The evening was spoilt in games and competitions. Mr Nielsen delighted all present with a vocal solo, and at a suitable interval Mr S. Richardson presented the guests of the evening each with a small gift from the Presbyterian Bible Class and teachers. A very dainty supper was served by Mrs Nielsen and tho party broke up about eleven o’clock. Mr and Mrs Maffey and family, who have been residents of the district for a number of years, are leaving at tho end of the week for tho Waikato. Mrs Davies, of Ohau, is visiting her son Mr W. Davies, and Mrs Davies. Miss McEwen and Miss E. McEwcn are holidaying at Napier. Mr and Mr 3 C. Croncher left _ on Thursday to spend a fortnight’s holiday in Wellington. Miss I. Ferguson is visiting Rongotca.
