Peep o' Day

From Our Own Correspondent.

A most enjoyable party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Beard when Mrs. Sidney Beard was the guest of honour, prior to her departure to the Valley road, Kimbolton. Mrs. G. Watt, on behalf of the ladies of Peep o’ Day, presented Mrs. Beard with an electric iron as a small token from her friends at Peep o’ Day. Mr. S. Beard suitably responded on behalf of his wifo. Competitions proved an amusing entertainment, ono being a parcel game in which the parcel finally reached the guest of honour. When opened it was found to contain cookery utensils for an electric stove. Winners of competitions were Miss Maurice, Miss Watt and Mr. C. McKenzie. Musical 'items were contributed by Mrs. Hewison, little Miss Doris Hewison and Mr. S. Beard, Mrs. Ednoy and Miss Horo playing the accompaniments. A most delicious afternoon tea wa3 served and the singing of They are Jolly Good Fellows” and "Auld Lang Sync” brought the happy gathering to a close. Mrs. W. J. Beard received her guests wearing a frock of blue floral velvet. The guest of honour wore a frock of maroon check tweed. Others present were Mts. G. Watt, Mrs. Ritchie, Mrs. McKenzie, Mrs. B. Beard, Mrs. Hewison, Mr?. Haythornc, Mrs. Sutton, Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. D. Watt, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Edney, Mrs. Horc, Mrs. Maurice, Misses H.
