Wanganui Education Board Officials

VISIT FEILDING SCHOOLS On Wednesday afternoon Mr J. H. Bree, the recently appointed secretary to the Wanganui Education Board, paid his first official visit to the Feilding schools in company with Mr E. R. Hodge, tho board’s architect. Calling first at Lytton Street institution, the visitors wero welcomed by Mr J. Penney, chairman of tho school committee, who was supported by members of the committee, and the headmaster (Mr W. C. Wilson), and were introduced to members of the staff, after which they wero shown over the school and its grounds and surroundings. The visitors expresed themselves as being well pleased with the school environments, Mr Hodge remarking on the wonderful improvements made over a short period of years. The lady members of tho staff, under Miss Crabbe, entertained the visitors at afternoon tea, after which they departed to visit the Manchester Street School, where they wero welcomed by Mr G. J. Fitzpatrick, chairman of the school committee, and tho headmaster, Mr. Prior. Here again the board’s representatives inspected the buildings and grounds and following a meeting with the school staff departed for Wanganui.
