Feilding Cycling Club
WEDNESDAY’S ROAD RACE Despite the changeable weather conditions a few riders from Palmerston North turned up to take part in tho Feilding Cycle Club’s road race on Wednesday afternoon. The course was via Taonui and Colyton, back to Kimbolton road, a distance of approximately 12 miles. Although heavy going was experienced for part of the journey, good times were made. The three limit men managed to retain tho lead, although there was only a few seconds difference between first and last man to finish. Results are as follow: L. Hayes (P.N.), 4min, 1; D. Lamberton, 4min, 2; R. Lamberton, 4min, 3. Time, 33 min 35scc. Won by a length. Fastest time went to A. Eade, llmin, who covered the journey in 31mm 45 sec.
Also started: G. Little and H. Cocker, 21 min. To-morrow’s race, in which several visiting riders are expected to compete, will start at 2 p.m. and will be run over the same course.
