Colyton

From Our Own Correspondent. When Colyton ladies’ hockey team met High School Old Girls on Saturday the score of I—l was fairly indicative of the game. Soon alter the commencement of the game a free hit into the circle by J. Telford allowed E. Worsfold to not Colyton’s goal. E. Worsfold is a new player for Colyton and in playing bully strengthened the forwards considerably. This wa3 the only score in tho first half and it was only nine minutes from time when M. Pearson, who played splendid hockoy throughout, made a spectacular solo run from half way and skillfully passing Colyton's halves and full backs evened the score with a good shot. The strong defence of both teams was a feature of the game, B. Malcolmson and D, Pengelly being most prominent for H.5.0.G., whilo T. Rankin, full back, and J. Benge and L. Griffiths, halves, played good games for Colyton. In tho forward ranks M. Anderson and E. Worsfold were outstanding, their passing rushes being very strong, and both being very dangerous when in the circle. J. Griffiths, Colyton’s goalie, saved a number of good shots. Colyton girls would be well advised to tackle more and hit harder, whilo more passing to the centre by the forwards would have been advantageous to their side.
