Mr and Mrs. Morrison Farewelled
BRIDGE EVENING AT GOLF CLUB In honour of Mr. and Mrs. D. Morrison, who are leaving for Wellington to-morrow, where Mr. Morrison has been transferred on promotion, a bridge and dance evening was held at tho clubhouse of tho Palmerston North Golf Club on Wednesday evening. Bridge was played until 11 o’clock, when supper was served, tho president taking the opportunity to present to Mr. and Airs. Morrison, on behalf of the club, a weather glass. In his remarks ho referred to tho fact that Air. Morrison was one of the club's original vice-presidents and that he is still holding the position. Air. Alorrison was looked upon by the committee as the club’s financial adviser and it was owing largely to his canny Scot's caution and hard work that the club was in its present very sound financial position. Mrs. Morrison also had rendered sterling service to the club, serving on’ the ladies’ committee for some years, and this season holding the position of club captain for the ladies’ section. Continuing, Air. Hart remarked that tho club would certainly miss them both, not only as helpers, but also as players, and in asking them to accept the club’s presentation he wished them the very best of fortune in their new position. Mr. Morrison suitably responded. Dancing was then indulged in until about 1 arm.
