Extensive alterations undertaken by the school committee are now in progress at the Central School swimming baths. The work was started a fortnight ago, and very good progress has been made. A now brick frontage is being erected, and the rear of the bath's is being lengthened to provide for new cubicles in a double tier.
An invitation is extended to residents of the Ashhurst, Raumai and Pohangina districts, including ladies, to attend a meeting at the Raumai hall to-morrow evening under the auspices of the New Zealand Legion for the purpose of establishing a branch of the legion in that district.
