Farmers’ Drinking Parly Ends Fatally

MORNING BRINGS TRAGIC DISCOVERY Per Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. Tho story of a party that ended fatally for one of the participants, D. J. Hepburn, a farm labourer, aged 52, was disclosed at au inquest at Mahoenui to-day. A number of farmers and other residents visited several houses where liquor was consumed. In a garage Hepburn tripped over a tyro and fell. He, with others, visited another house, and tho party w r ent to a hut and slept. Hepburn and Mclvanc slept in the same bod and when Mclvanc awoke in the morning be found Hepburn dead beside him. The jury returned a verdict that Hepburn died accidentally as a result of injuries sustained in a fall.
