Bridge and Bridegroom-elect Entertained at Party Tea

Oa Tuesday evening Miss G-. Thurston and Mr. J. Dcwc, who aro to be married on Wednesday next, were given a delightful pantry tea by Miss Dorothy Whitehead and her brother, Mr. Lawrenco Whitehead, at their lioxue, Fergusson street, Fcilding. Somo 50 young people were present and the house was cosy with fires and looked festive indeed. Streamers of pink and green brightened one room, orange, black' and green streamers and vases of Iceland poppies and crimson berries bedecked a second, a third being arranged with flowers and foliage in the gayest of colouring. Those present were entertained with dancing, ping pong and bagatelle and the supper served was delicious. A great variety of cooking requisites as well as jams and pickles, etc., wherewith to stock the pantry of their futuro home was received by the guests of honour, and Mr. Dcwc, in appropriate terms, expressed Miss Thurston’s and his own appreciation of the kindness extended to them. .Shortly after midnight the party caino to an end with the si aging of “Auld Lang Syne.” Miss Whitehead for the occasion wore a charming model frock and cape of rust satin. Mrs. Whitehead, who assisted in receiving the guests, was gowned in navy silk. Miss Thurston's pretty frock was of red satin and her coatee of ivory panne velvet was trimmed with white fur.
