A special class is being formed at tho Palmerston North Technical school for motor mechanics desiring to qualify for the A grade certificate.
Young farmers are reminded that wool-classing enrolments may bo made at tho Palmerston North Technical school.
Judging in the wool classes in the rabbit section at the Winter Show resulted: Super first grade, over 3m. staple: A. S. Litchfield (building), 1, only entry. Pirst grade, 2Jin. to oin. staple: A. S. Litchfield 1, Mrs. A. Gaincross (New Plymouth) _2; two entries. Second grade, under 2Ain.: A. S. Litchfield 1; only entry.
One of the best stories going around Washington, U.S.A., is Owen D. Young’s description in a recent director’s meeting of how the business world is acting in the depression. “It strikes me,” ho said, “that we’re all in the same boat with Christopher Columbus. Ho didn’t know where he was going when he started. When he got there ho didn’t know where ho was. And when he got back he didn’t know r where lie had been.”
No definite advice of the whereabouts ■of Mr William Charles Vallance, the Auckland solicitor, who has been missing from his home since Saturday morning last, has yet been received by tie Auckland police. They have, however, been notified by the Hamilton polico that a man resembling Mr Vallancc was seen on tho Tauranga express when it arrived from Irankton Junction on Monday morning. Mr Vallancc left his home at 4G Windsor road, Avondale, for his office in the city on Saturday morning. It is thought ho might be suffering from loss of memory.
