Apple Exports From Nelson
Per Press Association. NELSON, Last Night. The last shipment of fruit for the United Kingdom eras forwarded yesterday. The total for the soason is 724,426 cases, as against 991,720 last year. The drop is due to this being an off season. The orchards, however, are in good condition, and Mr. J. 11. Brunt, shipping supervisor, anticipates that with suitable climatic conditions next year’s corp, in a “on” year, should exceed the present record. Delicious and Statesman varieties cropped particularly well. The falling off was duo mainly to light cropping by Stunners. The pear exports rose from 39,000 to 45,060 cases.
