From Our Own Correspondent

Mr. G. C. Harre, headmaster of the Ngacre school, Taranaki, and Mrs. Harre and family spent the Easter vacation on a visit to Mrs. Hanc s mother, Mrs. M. D. Mudford, Glen Oroua. Mr. W. Coombs, of the local post offico staff, returned to duty on Tuesday afternoon after spending the holidays with his parents in Wellington. A working bee was busy at tho local tennis court on Tuesday moving the fences to allow of more space on the ends and side lines. A start will shortly be made with relaying the surface of the court.

During the holidays the weather was generally unsettled, somewhat wintryl conditions prevailing. The local, school reopened on Wednesday 'morning after the Easter holidays. The bachelors and spinsters of the district intend holding a ball next Wednesday night.
