Tlie Longburn Miniature Rifle Club held its weekly shoot on Monday last. The handicap competition was again won by Mr. C. Gherriffs. Supper was provided for tho lirst time in weekly sheets and will bo continued throughout tho season. Tho following are the individual scores: —W. Birch, 69, 69 — 13S; W. Grace, 68, 68 —136; A. Cooksley, 58, 59 —117; A. Goodman, 55, 62 —117; A. Fisher, 57, 57—114. The Longburn school, which has been closed owing to the opidenic of diphtheria, re-opened on Wednesday. Miss AVhitham is the guest of Mrs. Campbell. Misses Jean and Joan Campbell spent the week-end in Wellington. Mrs. D. C. Jensen and her infant son, of Johnsonville, aro visiting her mother, Mrs. Bowler. Mr. H. Mabey is visiting Mr. L. Hills at Mirimu, near Raetihi. Mr. R. Cooksley spent the week-end at Masterton,
Mr. H. W. Bowler has returned after spending a few days with liis daughter, Mrs. Wallis, of Jolmsonvillo. Mrs. Smith, of Christchurch, is spending a fortnight’s holiday with Mrs. Alderslv.
Miss'll.-Mahoney has left Longburn for a holiday in Hastings. Mr. D. Fabling is spending a brief holiday in Wellington. Mr. a.nd Mrs. Round have left Longburn to take up residence, in Rongotca.
