St Andrew’s Church Sunday School Picnic
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Sunday school and congregational picnic was held last Saturday in glorious weather across the Fitzherbert bridge in the beautiful grounds adjacent. A large party was conveyed in the city buses and a very pleasant day was spent by all. The children woro well catered for and tho parents woro entertained at afternoon tea. Much credit is due to Mrs. M. Aitcheson and her stall of willing helpers for this very successful outing. During the afternoon sports were held and the following received prizes:— Races: —Girls (5 to 6 years): Avis Hansen 1, Phyllis Petersen 2; boys (5 to 6): Ray Brougham 1, George Paki 2; girls (6 to 7): Noclino Perrin 1, Judith Millar 2; bays (6 to 7): Neil Hanson 1, Gordon Divehall 2; girls (7 to 8): Margaret Prazcr 1, Nola Heggeran 2; boys (7 to 8): Lcn Carter 1, Brian Smith 2; girls (8 to 9): Hope Belfit 1, Betty Pugloswski 2; boys (8 to 9): Wiri Paki 1, William Stewart 2; girls (9 to 10): Rona Watteress 1, Jill Relling 2; boys (9 to 10): Geoffrey Bale 1, William McCormack 2; girls (10 to 11): Dorothy Myles 1, Joyce Little 2; boys (10 to 11): Stanley McMillan 1, Tom Adamson 2; girls (11 to 12): Berio Tingey 1, Graco Watteress 2; boys (11 to 12): Jack Mullins 1, Jim Fitzgerald 2; girls (over 12): Shirley Reid 1, Olga Paddy 2; boys (over 12): Leslie Punlowski 1, Norman Adamson 2; teacners' race, Mr. Neodl 1, Mr. R. Beliit 2; married men ’3 race: Mr. Henderson 1, Mr. McMillan 2; married ladies’ race: Mrs. Perrin 1, Mrs. McConnachie 2; girls’ three-legged race: D. Hughes and E. Spillman 1; boys’ three-legged race: Harry Reid 1, Norman Pegden 2; deacons’ race: Mr. Henderson 1, Mr. Stewart 2. Various tug-of-war events were carried out for the men.
