Tho fear of disease getting a foothold on the earthquake-torn area in tho metropolitan district through pollution from unregulated sanitation added more woo on Sunday to the predicament of the homeless thousands. Tho united relief agencies went into action on a wide front and first aid, hospitalisation, food distribution, and even reconstruction work, gathered momentum while the earth v'as still shaking. Thirty-livo major shocks occurred, but the continuing shocks did little damage except to shake down more bricks, glass and masonry. The casualty and damage figures have remained generally unchanged. Long Beach Death Roll Down to 50 Received Monday, 10.30 p.m. LONG BEACH, March 12. The death roll here as the result of the earthquake is now estimated at 50. The reduction in number is duo to wrong identifications of the same bodies.
