Church Services

Special harvest thanksgiving services will bo held in the Baptist Church to-morrow. The preacher for the day will be the Rev. E. Nichols, of Hastings, who is well known here. There will be a special service a.t 3 p.m. for those who cannot attend morning or evening. Extra singing by the choir will be a feature of the services.

Quarterly Communion services will be hold in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church to-morrow at. both services. They will both be conducted by Rev. Cr. T. Browui, M.A. In the morning he will preach on "The Meaning of the Cross" and in the evening "The Cross in Daily Life."

The services to-morrow at the Cuba Street Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. G. D. McArthur. At 11 a.m, the book of Daniel will be studied; at 7 p.m. the subject will be “Service.” Harvest thanksgiving will be observed at Longburn at- 2.30. The church will be decorated with fruit, flowers and produce. Worshippers are cordially invited to these Services.

(Eov. A. A. Scotter will be the preacher at St. Paul’s Methodist Church to-morrow. Special thanksgiving offerings are being received. The choir will render suitable harvest anthems both morning and evening and at the latetr service Miss Phyllis Liddell will sing.

Mr. Grinstead is planned to be the speaker at. the morning service at the Church of Christ this Sunday. Evangelist Alf. Hinrichscii will conduct the evening service, and will preach on “Knocking at the Door.” Mr. .J. Parker conducts community singing each Sunday evening. The annual business meeting and church social w ill ],c held this Wednesday, March 1, at 7.30 p.m. All members are requested to attend. Owing to Pastor C. G. 11. By croft attending the Assembly meetings in Auckland, services in Emmanuel Congregational Church, Broadway, to-mor-row will be conducted by Rev. F. A. Crawshaw. At the evening service the choir will render the anthem, and a very warm welcome is extended to strangers and visitors to the city to worship at the Congregational Church.
