The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Championship meeting opened at Lancaster Park this afternoon in brilliant sunshine. The track was fast, but a north-east breezo blowing across the ground hindered the sprinters. Results were:—

The Empire Games Federation has arranged a second Empire Games for London in 3 934, lasting ten days and embracing track and field eveuts, boxing, swimming, cycling and wrestling. Women will compete in the swimming and some of tho track events.
