Betty Compson Back In Hollywood

WILL APPEAR IN "DESTINATION UNKNOWN” FOR UNIVERSAL.

After a two-years’ absence from Universal City, where many of her earlier triumphs were filmed, Betty Compson has returned to that studio to enact the leading role in “Desination Unknown.” In addition to Miss Compson, the “Destination Unknown” cast is headed by Pat O’Brien and Ralph Bellamy, who both scored such a sensational success in “Air Mail,” Universal’s thrilling story of the little known pilots who fly the mails in America. A life-like replica of a ship has been constructed on the sound stage at Universal City and aboard this gigantic set is being photographed every scene of the sea drama, “Destination Unknown,’’ with the vessel represented as a derelict adrift in tho Pacific Ocean.

One of the principal Toles in ‘‘Lady No. 6142,” now being made at the Warner Bros, studio as a starring vehicle for Barbara Stanwyck, has just been assigned to Dorothy Burgess.

The forthcoming screen production of “The Keyholo,” from a story by Raoul Whitfield, has just been announced by Warners. “The Keyhole” is described as being a human and dramatic story of the private detective business.
