There were nine starters but crashes or mechanical troubles accounted for all but S. Moses, of Auckland, who was first in 1931 and finished second in last year’s race. Moses covored the 25 laps of tho course, a total distance of 108 miles, in 3 hours 12 minutes 1-5 second and was the only rider who did not fall at any stage. In spite of the large numb or of falls only one rider was seriously injured, H. W. Youren, of Auckland, receiving a dislocated left shoulder when his machine plunged down a bank in the 17th lap. An excellent race was ridden by L. Sowerby, of Auckland, who covered several laps with his handle bars bent after a crash only to have his motor fail on the 24th circuit. Machine trouble also accounted for A. Mattson, B. Bray, R. Lockett, of Waihi, L. Perry and C. Goldberg. H. Fletcher had his left hand injured when he fell and could not continue.

Two New Zealand representatives to take part in the International Tourist Trophy races at the Isle of Man next June will bo chosen from the competitors in to-day’s race who were matched by three representatives of tho New Zealand Auto Cycle Union.
