Taranaki Aeroplane Tragedy

INQUEST ADJOURNED Per Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. The inquest concerning the death of Bichard Guy Putt who was hilled in an aeroplano crash at Pihama on Sunday afternoon, was opened at Opunake today Dy the District Coroner, Mr. R. S. Sage, of Haweru. After medical evidence and formal evidence of identification had been taken the inquest was adjourned sino die and will probably be resumed wkon the pilot (Mr. Davies) is sufficiently recovered to give evidence. An aeronautical inquiry will also probably bo held. Giving evidence, Mr. Forsyth, over whose homo the piano was circling prior to the crash, said he saw the aeroplane flying over his house and the fliers signalled to him from the plane. Prior to the adjournment of the inquest the Coroner said he was sorry to state that the removal of the aeroplane from where the accident occurred was contrary to the Aerial Navigation Act and he would have to report it.

Mr. Davies’ condition to-day is improved. He is recovering from the concussion. His other injuries include a deep cut four inches long in the forehoad and a broken nose. There is no sign of internal injuries.
