St. John Ambulance Brigade
ANNUAL MEETING OF PALMERSTON NORTH DIVISION
The annual meeting of the Palmerston North division of St. John Ambulance Brigade was held last night, Superintendent P. Holz presiding over an attendance of 11 members.
Speaking to the annual report, as already published, Superintendent Holz said that the membership was now stable after having fluctuated for some time. With a competitive spirit iu future practices, members would benefit in that the standard of work would be brought to a higher degree. It was pleasing to see that, notwithstanding several relatively big items of expenditure, the year had finished with a small credit balance. It was hoped to be able to add further members this year and to provide more with uniforms. The division was unfortunate in that it would be without the services for the bigger part of the coming year of its secretary, Mr. L. O. Wallis,, who was taking a trip to the Old Country, and the speaker wished him, on behalf of members, an enjoyable sojourn abroad.
A resolution expressing appreciation of the work of Mr. Wallis, together with best wishes for his trip, was placed on record. It ivas decided to provide him with a letter of introduction to St. John Ambulance, London. Private Paynter was appointed act-ing-secretary until Mr. Wallis returns.
