MORE REQUESTS FROM EUROPE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Received Tuesday, 10.30 p.m. WASHINGTON, Jan. 23. While Mr. Roosevelt is at Warm Springs prepared to study economic problems both domestic and foieign it became apparent hero to-day that the incoming Administration will be confronted with debt negotiations with virtually all the debtor Governments. The first reaction to the HooverRoosevelt communique inviting Britain to discuss war debts came from Italy whose Ambassador, Signor Rosso, visited the Secretary of State, Mr. H. L. Stimson, inquiring informally concerning tho prospects of debt revision after March 4 and for an interpretation of the communique.
Observers expressed the opinion that Italy, probably viewing herself in the samo category as Britain by virtuo of having met tho December instalment, undoubtedly will seek to have her case reviewed soon after tho British negotiations are started.
Meanwhilo tho Belgian Ambassador visited Under-Secretary Castle, and Sir Ronald Lindsay (British Ambassador) conferred rvith Assistant-Secretary of State Bundy. Nothing was disclosed concerning the calls. It is authoritatively learned that Mr. Stimson will confer "when advisable" with Professors Moley and Tugwcll, Mr. Roosevelt’s advisers, presumably concerning a phase mentioned in the communique.
