1932 Bankruptcies Below Yearly Average
FIGURES FOR P.N. SUPREME COURT DISTRICT Contrary to -what may have been thought to bo the case, bankruptcies that occurred in the Palmerston North Supreme Court district during the year just ending are below tho average for the 14-year period since tho end of the Great War. Petitions filed up till yesterday numbered 31, as against an average yearly figure for tho period quoted of 33. During tho year petitions were filed by the following:—Farmers (3), hairdressers (3), painters (2), labourers (2), restauranteurs (2), deceased estates (2); eoachbuilder, spinster, slaughterman, motor mechanic, garage proprietor, firewood merchant, tyre dealer, storekeeper, photographer, wickerware manufacturer, hotelkeeper, dealer, tailor, mercer, carrier and railway porter. Nineteen of the above bankruptcies wero tho'se of city residents, the balance coming from the remainder of Palmerston North Supreme Court area, Levin supplied three and Feildingtwo.
