An original and i-implo little accessory which, has received favourable notice in England is a balancing device for the engine system, which is designed to afford a steady flow of mixture in the induction manifold at all speeds, and thus improve flexibility and acceleration, as well as having a beneficial effect on petrol consumption and power output. It consists of a metal bulb with a specially shaped orifice, the bulb being niado integral with a flange, which allows the accessory to be fitted between the carburettor and the intake manifold. The function of the bulb is this: When tbo vacuum effect in the induction manifold is highest, the bulb becomes partially exhausted, but as the throttle is opened and the vacuum effect in the manifold decreases, the bulb again becomes charged with mixture, and thus has the effect of smoothing out' abrupt changes in the volume of* mixture fed to the cylinders.
