Farewell Party at “ Pukeora," Feilding

On Thursday afternoon a farewell party which took the form of a. rose afternoon was given by her numerous friends for Mrs. Henry Hare, who on Tuesday next with her husbanu iwu daughter leave Feilding to take up residence in Martou. The party took place at ‘ ‘Pukcora, ’’ Sandon road, the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jenkinsou, and the garden was ablaze with gorgeous roses of every variety aud hue. Each of those present wore a rose and the drawing room presented a perfect picture with its exquisite arrangement of tho same flowers. Upon her arrival the guest of liouour was presented by Mrs. Jenkinsou with a very lovely posy in which pink rosebuds predominated. The posy, which had been made by Miss Murdoch, was artistically backed by autumn leaves and frilled with punt tulle. Tho rose was the subject of two competitions that occupied the afternoon very pleasantly, and the winners who were Mesdames J. S. Tingey and A. J. Kcllow received as prizes pretty pieces of china'patterned in roses, following a delicious afternoon tea Mrs. Jenkinsou, who was wearing a frock of nigger brown marocain with hat to tone, in a brief speech voiced tho regret of Mrs. l-iaro’s friends at her approaching departure from Feilding and wished her much happiness in her future home at Marton. On behalf of the gathering and others w’ho were unavoidably absent, the speaker then asked Mrs. Hare to accept a very charming tea set, for which the recipient gracefully returned thanks. Mrs. Kevington Jones, who was joint hostess with Mrs. Jenkinsou, was in a frock of black taffeta patterned in pink roses. Mrs. Hare wore a smart frock of black lace and georgette with touches of flesh pink and a black Bankok hat relieved with pink. Miss Adeline Hare’s model frock was of jade green marocain trimmed with tiny gold buttons. She also wore a black coatee and a green felt hat. Among tho invited guests were Mesdames Gordon Hare and Miss L. Hare, Mrs. John Hare and Miss Mary Hare, Mrs. G. Phillips and Miss A. Phillips, Mrs. Carmine,' Mrs. Frank Mason, Miss Murdoch, Mrs. Allan McKenzie and Miss Yevily McKenzie, Mrs. J. C. Webster, Mrs. Jack Buchanan, Mrs. Bouslield (Wanganui), Mrs. Harry Wood, Mrs. Arthur Baker, Mrs. J. Gordon Eliott, Mrs. A. J. 1low and Miss G. Keilow, Mrs. David Bell, Mrs. A. C. St. Paul, Mrs. Stack, Miss Selby’, Miss Spain, Mrs. F. J. Lethbridge and Miss Lethbridge, Mrs. B. Carter, Mrs. Fowler, Mrs. Pratt, Mrs. J. S. Tingey, Mrs. F. H. Petrie, Mrs. C. Evans, Mrs. McClure, Mrs. L. J. Wild, Mrs. Adrian Porter, Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Stuckey and Mrs. Arthur Langdon.
