Horticulturalists Hold Annual Meeting
Mr. A. W. Just presided over a representative attendance at the annual general meeting of tho Palmerston North district council of the Horticultural Trades' Association. A welcome was extended to Mr. Geo. Green, from Auckland, and Mr. J. Gibbs, from Dannevirke. A long discussion took place on the matter of a suitable co-operative exhibit from Palmerston North for the National Flower Show in Wellington in January. It was resolved to cooperate to the fullest extent and to invite the president of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture (Air. F. J. Nathan) to call a meeting of all interested in horticulture in Palmerston North with a view to sending a thoroughly representative exhibit of fruit, flowers and plants. A committee, consisting of Alcssrs. Just and Ivingsbecr, was appointed to prepare remits for the annual conference, to be held in January in YYellington. Mr. J. N. McLeod, of Christchurch, was unanimously nominated as Dominion president for 1933. For the position of North Island vice-president, Mr. A, W. Just was nominated. Alessrs. A. W. Just and W. V. Kingsbeer were re-elected for the respective’ cilices of chairman and secretary of tho Palmerston North district council. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr. and Airs. Kingsboer for their hospitality.
